Hangovers are universal.

FRIDAY NIGHT BABBBBYYYY #jkz
Basically after our first day in our official departments Ann, Sarah and I were starving and we didn’t want to go to icafe. We decided to go to Olive Garden. No, unfortunately not the Olive Garden chain from home, but still an Italian place. All we wanted was some pasta, simple right? Not so much. We go there and of course they were having some special buffet, and only a special, which was 128 RMB, not okay #cheapcollegestudents Basically when that failed, we had no idea what to do. We walked around for about 5 minutes and then caved and called Richard and Dennis for help. Richard was working later and Dennis was just about to leave work, so we walked back to the hotel and he helped us #FOREINGERS He took us to this sketchy looking hole in the wall one block from the hotel. They don’t have menus there, and we told him we wanted noodles and he made it happen. Don’t know what he ordered, but he ordered four kinds of noodles and it was out in about 5 minutes, and it was FREAKING DELICIOUS. Could not have been happier! When we got back to the apartment, we had Dennis come in solely to write down what he ordered so we could go back there by ourselves haha Then Ann, Dennis and I went to our little coffee shop a couple minutes away and just relaxed J #casualfriday

SATURDAY
Welp, the Chinese class has officially begun! At 8:00AM… Yes, 8:00AM.. For four hours.. EVERY Saturday for 16 weeks. That’s a lot of 8:00AM’s #tooearlybro The class is just us four Purdue students and our teacher! (Poor guy haha) After this first class it is clear that I’m tone deaf. The teacher would have us say stuff one by one and he kept correcting me and telling me how to say it correctly, but it sounded exactly what I said, but I guess not so much haha Oh did I mention we decided to go to breakfast at icafe at 7:00? Well let me tell you, it was so worth it! They have an omelet station, pancakes, French toast, fruit, tons of stuff and it was all delicious #WesternBreakfast After eating a ‘merican breakfast and sitting inside a classroom for four hours, we decided to go workout #myfav #notreally

Then we pretty much just hung around the apartment until Richard came over to take us to dinner, and I say take as in chaperone since we’d all get lost in like a second haha We went to a restaurant in a mall by Victory Plaza and we were all starving because we didn’t eat lunch because we just got a smoothie drink instead (believe me, not my idea haha #ilovefood ). So in China they like to order a bunch of dishes, share them and split the bill. We do not. We all ordered our own dishes and unhappily let everyone try a bite of one another’s haha Everything we ordered was spicy too, but so tasty!!! My favorite meal so far! It was some pork, peppers and onion dish and then we got rice too, and thank god because my mouth was on fire. We were all sweating from how spicy our food was hahah Good thing we wear deodorant!! #kiddingbutnot When we got back from the restaurant we were in a food coma, and rightfully so because I ate literally everything on my plate. #fatty
My uhhmahhzing meal
For some reason, we made plans to go out with two colleagues (ß Shangri-La’s favorite word haha) at 11:00pm. The reason this is confusing is because I had work the next day at 8:30am.. #yikes Welp, the night started at 11 and ended in the am.. We went to JD’s again, AKA the foreigners bar haha Let me just say people watching in America is fun and all, but it is wayyy more entertaining in China hahah #baddancers Of course there was American music so we had no trouble singing them loudly and proudly #MERICAMERICAMERCIA!

SUNDAY
Believe it or not, hangovers in China suck just as much as in America #gofigure Managed to power through training, and luckily our supervisor let us go early.. The moment I stepped back in the apartment, plopped myself in my bed and passed out #WellDeserved I napped it out for a bit and then eventually got up, chit-chatted for a bit, skyped, made calls, always catching up on my correspondence in my free time #BidnizLady

OH and I’m sorry to report that I am no longer wearing my red jacket for work now L They switched us to the managers uniforms, not too happy about it because I think we should be wearing what our colleagues wear, but not my decision. Luckily the manager suit is NOT red!!!!!! #WOOOO It’s just a black skirt suit, black nylons (which I already snagged #typical) and my heels #IDespiseHeels

Anyways, since I worked today, I’m off tomorrow! Time to get some sleep J

Miss you guys!!!
