I'M ALIVEEEEEEEEEE

Things you missed since the last blog...

**HEATHER'S BIRFDAY! For Heather's birthday, us, some girls from Lobby Lounge, Taka, Sophia, Kamal, and our Canadian friend Orianne all went to this club called 9 Degrees haha #NotKidding This was definitely a local club, but they still played a lot of American music. It took forever to get our first drink, but after it was no problem haha We made friends, who of course bought us drinks haha #FreeBeer Oh... on the way home we got the munchies... THANK YOU MCDONALDS! Couldn't have been more perfect! haha Andddd we ran into this one guy from work, Clark, who is kind of an ass, so we of course talked to him but we would just talk really fast so he would have no idea what we were saying #ThankYouLanguageBarrier

**One night, Kobe, the manager of f2, the hotel bar, came up and was telling me that it was lady’s night so we get free wine and that we should come. I got suckered into saying “oh yeah sure, we’ll be there!” #whoops We went to f2 (yes, the name is retarded, but that’s the least of the bar’s problems), and as we’re sipping on our free wine, I see the guy from Hong Kong on the other side of the bar with two of his friends. They came over and were talking with us, turns out this guy, Jon, he’s like 40 from New York now living in Hong Kong, was the guy who got one of the Purdue interns from last year a job at Four Seasons in Bali!! Haha #smallworld We ended up just drinking at f2 for awhile and then went to Burboun Street for more drinks haha

**Saw Men in Black 3 in 3-D here. Assigned seats??? YES! Oh and the 3-D glasses here are for wide-vision, not full screen vision haha

**Got to work with my favorite unibrowed colleague, Anson <3 haha He's adorable and actually teaches me stuff!!

**Also worked with Andy a lot, who hasn't worked at Shangri-La very long but he's a very good teacher. #Adorbz I'm currently convincing him to propose to his girlfriend now so he can have a Chinese wedding before I leave and them he can have a wedding in America that I can go to hahah #selfish

**Went out for the goddamn Fourth of July!!!!!!!!!!!! Had beers and bacon-wrapped foods because that's how us 'mericans do it! Oh, and I also wore my "'Merica, 'Merica, 'Merica" shirt and we were loud as heck! haha We started off at this foreign bar called "Hop Scotch" which is just awesome, outside seating, beautiful night, and tons of people! After we went to Suzi Wong's, or Schwongs as we like to call it haha #inappropriate Anyways, there weren't a lot of people there and by that I mean it was us, our new friends, and two other people... HOWEVER, somehow a bunch of people from Hop Scotch showed up at Schwongs. It's probably because we were being obnoxious and yelling Schwongs, Schwongs on our way out haha #WereAnnoying Either way: Showed my American Pride on the 4th! F*CK YEAH, MURICA!

**Talked one of my trainers into giving me the shifts I want for my rotation because I was so over morning shift haha Literally told Apple I would only work Sunday if I could be B shift #NotMessingAround But hey, it worked! I worked a bunch of B shifts the past couple of weeks

**LAST DAY AT FRONT DESK!!! WHAAAAAATTTTT?!?!? You know what that means? My first rotation here is over! That's absolutely crazy to me! 25 days at front desk flew by!!!! Definitely was an experience! My training at the beginning was not very good because it is the peak season right now for the hotel, but luckily I was able to pick up on how to check people in and out. They told me that normally people at front desk train for 3 months before they are allowed to check people in and out, of course, I'm the exception.. because I'm white hahaha

**One B shift: someone went and got ice-cream. It was fucking delicious. That is all.

**After work one day: Me, Andy, and Wayne (two of my Chinese coworkers) went out for some beers and food! We went to this local BBQ place. We sat down, they gave us Chinese menus so of course I left the food ordering up to them haha They ordered: Tsing Tao beer, beef, lamb, chicken heart (Yes you read that correctly), Chinese bread, clams, and shrimp balls. I had some of everything: soooo delicious!!!!!!!!! Chicken heart was weird, kind of crunchy haha but hey, when else am I gunna try something like that! #WhenInChina

**Saturday after Chinese class: Me and 3 people from work, Jessie (Guest Relations), Rita (Sales) and Alice (Korean Sales), met up and they took me to... a square... I don't really know the name of it, but all I know is that it was by the Dalian Museum of Natural History, but we didn't go in just walked around! It was such a beautiful day outside and there were tons and tons of couples taking there wedding photos there! After that area, we walked to Xinghai Park and took pictures, and talked and then we decided we needed to sit because we were tired haha We went to HopScotch because it's basically the only place there and we got some coffee, fries (or as they like to call them "fires"hahha) and peanuts #totallynormal haha After that Alice and I headed back because after ACTUALLY BEING OUT IN THE SUN, I had to shower again before dinner haha For dinner that night, me and my roommates met up with two people from the residences that are from the good ole US of A! They took us to Cafe Copenhagen where I got the most delicious pasta carbonara everrrrrr! Great, now that I"m thinking about it again, I'm hungry #mmmmFOOOD #droolingprobz

**Concierge: It's a joke. We were really busy the first two days I was there so I didn't do much except eat in the back office and talk to the bellboys. Hey, not the worst thing in the world! haha They taught me some Chinese words, which I immediately forgot so of course I had them write it down for me haha OH, and Vincent, Chief Concierge, is pretty hilarious, mainly because I like to talk really fast to him so he has no idea what I'm talking about so he gets very confused haha #entertainment

**Chinese food court: Kill. Me. Now. haha I went to the mall with one of my friends and we went to the food court there, it was just so chaotic and so many people, like all of China is, BUT the food was delicious and well worth it! I had some chicken, some egg/fritata type thing, rice #obvi, some sweet congee (and by sweet I mean literally, think there were mangos in it), some mango juice, and then some weird thing that wasn't good so I didn't eat it haha

Get ready for some pictures..........
